last week~~
me and other fellow group mmbers that's include syud, khai pin, ryan and min jie
went to ppukm for our csl(clinical skill learning) practices..
history taking jer...br 1st year takkan nk suh perform surgery???
huhu~~
as we arrived there that afternoon, the search of psychiatry department started
as our facilitator, dr wan is a psychiatrist clinical specialist...
then we were brought to the medical ward on 6th floor..
this very unfair, the other doctors from other groups brought their groups
to a lots other interesting wards-pediatric,oncology,obstetric n gynae
huhu~~naseb la kn???
in the med ward, each of us have been given one patient to take their history
(not the narcolepsy-induced history that we've been through during school time ya!!)
haha~~~
we were given a task to take the history of the patient's illnesses and
everything associated with the illnesses
the patient that i've got is an 60 years old middle-age malay lady named puan SR
(as the confidentiality between doc n patient very crucial,
i prefer not to reveal her true name)
puan SR is admitted presented with prolonged chill fever associated with nausea,
fatigue and loss of appetite which also causing drastic loss of weight for past 4 weeks.
hhhmmm...
she is still in the diagnose state(meaning she also dont even know what her illness is??)
we were also being tasked to diagnose the patient
(meaning predict what illness the patient really has)
huhu...this is hard because we were not even in our clinical years which is
3rd ,4th and 5th year yet
so, how are we going to diagnose the patient with only the theoretical
knowledge only??
as dr wan said...CINCAI JE LA!!!
haha~~dr wan is a very supportive dr...haha
back to puan SR
when i asked her about her family history,
she started being excited~~she told me that she has 8 children which all
of them has grown up successfully and having a great job
plus their own family each
what a happy life she has??
i am very lucky to have such a coorperative patient unlike my friend, ryan
his patient did not really coorperate and gave him enough info
(without enough info, how can he write the case report??)
poor him...
at the end of the session, we were asked to present our case to dr wan
as usual, i presented my case and i mentioned to dr wan that i
cant find what wrong with my patient~~poor me!!
straightly, dr wan told me that she had blood cancer~~~
multiple myeloma to be exact~
i am feeling so sad for puan SR...
she is having such a happy life, why do god gave her such a big challenge???
we cant never tell why..dont we???
the worst thing is, puan SR dont even know yet that she's having cancer
huhu~~
sume keje tuhan...everything that's happening around us has its own 'hikmah'
hhmmm...
this should be a lesson for me and all my buddies~~
afterall, my little visit to ppukm was very interesting...
love to be there again
(confirm la...as i'll proceed my clinical years there..haha)
~wink~
